Energy Killers

So much of success is really just eliminating the obvious barriers. This is true for managing the energy of your team, also.

Here are some of the energy killers in your healthcare organization:

❌ Lack of transparency in information

❌ Overtime 

❌ Lack of adequate work hours

❌ Negative peers

❌ Negative managers

❌ Excessive travel 

❌ Unnecessary commutes

❌ Unnecessary or ineffective meetings 

❌ Poorly designed work spaces

❌ Poorly designed workflows

❌ Not listening to employee ideas

❌ Unclear expectations 

❌ Surprise feedback 

❌ Poor connection between pay and skills 

❌ Pay that doesn't match the labor market

❌ Lack of access to growth opportunities

❌ Secretive promotion practices 

❌ Unequal promotion practices between departments 

So much of being Chief Energy Officer is just eliminating these bugs.

And here's something important -- if you AREN'T eliminating these barriers, then your employees 100% will view YOU as the nexus of the problem. Because you ARE the nexus of the problem.
