Psychological Safety Index

If you are serious about high performance in your organization, then I highly recommend the Psychological Safety Index assessment to understand if your team feels safe, to contribute, learn, and challenge the status quo.

Psychological safety at work has the following benefits:

  • Better ideas are shared
  • Learners learn faster
  • Learners learn BETTER
  • Bad processes are eliminated faster
  • Less money wasted on turnover and bad processes
  • More revenue due to client retention, better sales, salespeople retention, etc.
  • Bottom line: More money EARNED

The ways to improve psychological safety are not costly:

  • Do one on ones with your staff
  • Ask more questions
  • Select supervisors very carefully
  • Eliminate toxic leaders - both informal and formal ones
  • Admit mistakes
  • Have open discussions to analyze projects (After Action Review aka hotwash) and listen without judgment
  • Appreciate your team more often for more things

The benefits to your culture of investing in psychological safety are numerous. Whether you use a tool like the Psychological Safety Index or simply implement some of the above suggestions, your team and workplace will benefit.
