Be Your Own Netflix
I was watching my favorite TV show. Exciting, shocking, surprising -- it keeps you on the edge of your seat.
But then it ends.
What should your brain do with all of that dopamine? You know, those happy chemicals that make you feel excited? The same ones that are released when (hopefully other) folks use cocaine. Or when you eat sugar.
"Luckily" my streaming service had a simple solution: It just starts up a new episode of the show right away!
"How good for my brain!"
Or... how bad.
Does streaming show afters show help me with my goals? Does it clean the garage or install that insulation I've been putting off doing? Does it write blog posts or pick up the groceries?
No, it doesn't. In fact, it makes those things harder and less likely, because instead of doing that stuff, I'm watching shows or thinking about shows.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
You need to be BETTER than Netflix.
You need to have the algorithm for your own brain.
- What do you love?
- What lights you up?
- Who do you love to be around?
- Where do you love to spend time?
- What's an outdoor area that expands your energy?
- What future vision gets you excited?
- Take a quick break hit to boost your focus.
Tap into these energy sources and feed them to yourself Netflix style. You will be immune to Tik Tok because you will be your own streaming service, serving up a steady diet of positive energy.
